ZAGREB, July 18 (Hina) - Three-year-long negotiations, held under auspices of the OSCE, on a final document of Article V of Annex 1B of the Dayton peace agreement were concluded in Vienna on Wednesday with consensus reached by all parties that took part in the negotiating process. The negotiations, led by OSCE (Organisation for Security and Cooperation) Chairman's envoy, French Ambassador Henry Jacolin, were attended by representatives of all countries in the area of the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY), adjacent countries and of France, the Netherlands, Germany, Russia, the United States, Spain, Turkey and Great Britain. According to a statement, issued by the Croatian Foreign Ministry, for Croatia, which is a signatory to the Dayton agreement, the conclusion of the said negotiations closes yet another chapter of that peace deal. The final document on the said section of the Dayton peace accords regulates important issues such as the exchange of information, the promotion of military contacts and cooperation and the enhancement of measures referring to land mines, small arms and light weapons. All the measures will go into force as of 1 January 2002. Croatia is particularly satisfied with the fact that the final document ensures an important role for RACVIAC, a Croatian-German project for the regional centre, based in Rakitje outside Zagreb, for assistance and training in the implementation of the verification of the arms control, read the statement. The official conclusion of the negotiations will be marked on an extra-ordinary session of the OSCE Permanent Council and a forum for security cooperation, set for Thursday. (hina) ms
