ZAGREB, July 16 (Hina) - Croatia's Business Confidence Index (BCI) came to 52.5 in July, falling from its value of 54.6 in June, according to the ninth month poll conducted by the Croatian Employers' Association (HUP) and a
counselling bureau 'TAU'. The poll was conducted among managers and businessmen from big, medium-sized and small companies.

according to the ninth month poll conducted by the Croatian
Employers' Association (HUP) and a counselling bureau 'TAU'.
The poll was conducted among managers and businessmen from big,
medium-sized and small companies.#L#
The respondents cited high interest rates, poor demand, tax policy
and corruption as chief hindrances for their greater optimism.
Businessmen of big companies showed greater confidence; their BCI
came to 59.2 in July, as against 60.3 in June. On the other hand
medium-sized and small businessmen were less optimistic with the
BCI of 45.9 this month as against 48.9 last month.
The value of BCI can go between 0 and 100.
