"I am satisfied. It is important that in moments such as this, the
top bodies in the country such as the Sabor, show the sensitivity
for the moment," Racan told reporters after the government won the
vote of confidence by 93 to 36 ballots.
The government needed 76 votes in the 151-seat parliament to
survive the confidence vote.
Asked whether the announced reshuffle of his cabinet would ensue
now, Premier said everything what had happened about the issue of
Zagreb's co-operation with the UN war crimes Tribunal (ICTY) put
off the changes in the government.
We shall have to wait for the regular (autumn) parliamentary
session, set for 15 September, to give some proposals about the
reshuffle. We have now enough time for it, Racan added.
PM declined to comment on the fact that Drazen Budisa, a former
president of the Social Liberals (HSLS), the key ally of Racan's
Social Democrats (SDP) in the ruling coalition, had not shown up at
Sunday's parliamentary session which held the crucial vote of
confidence.
"Let me restrain myself from interpreting (Budisa's absence),"
Racan said adding that he was sorry about all the circumstances
referring to Budisa.
