BOSNJACI, July 12 (Hina) - An agreement on the conditions for the purchase of this year's crop of wheat was signed on Thursday in the village of Bosnjaci, eastern Croatia. The deal, harmonised on 3 July in Osijek, envisages the
purchase price of one kuna per kilogram plus costs of the purchase and transfer of the grain. The payment should be done within 15 days after the wheat is given to buyers. The agreement was today signed by Agriculture Minister Bozidar Pankretic, Croatian Farmers' Association leader Ivan Kolar and representatives of a few companies such as - Finagra, ZEA and Djakovstina - which will purchase the crop as well as the chamber of commerce of the city of Osijek. Another leading Croatian food-processing company - Agrokor - has announced it will sign the document tomorrow. Upon signing the document, Minister Pankratic said Croatia would
have enough wheat this year for its own needs, although this year's
yield was not so good in quantity and quality compared to previous
ones.
He added that in the last five years the country produced 150,000
tonnes of surplus wheat on average.
