ZAGREB, June 21 (Hina) - Latvia and Croatia have the same strategic goals - admission to the European Union and NATO, Croatian Parliament Speaker Zlatko Tomcic and his Latvian counterpart Janis Straume agreed at a meeting on Thursday.
The two officials welcomed the statement of European Commission chairman Roman Prodi at a recent EU summit in Goeteborg that each country which is candidate for EU membership will be assessed on an individual basis and not as part of a group of candidates.(hina) sb rml
