ZAGREB, June 19 (Hina) - Former Dubrovacka Banka management board chairman Neven Barac was arrested in Dubrovnik today on suspicion of having committed four criminal acts of abuse of office in business, thus damaging the bank for more
than DM28 million, police reported. Barac was arrested after an investigation by Dubrovnik-Neretva County police, and taken to the County Court investigative centre. The criminal acts which caused the DM28 million damage to the bank were committed in 1997. Barac was arrested for the first time in April 1998 on suspicion of white-collar crime. After five months in custody he was freed, and his trial began in March 1999. Due to a lack of evidence Barac was acquitted 20 days later.
