OVER 108,000 SQUARE METRES OF LAND IN ZADAR AREA DE-MINED

ZELENI HRAST, June 19 (Hina) - Over 108,000 square metres in the Zadar hinterland (southern Croatia) have been cleared of mines by a British company DSL. The job of demining 108,714 square metres in the areas of Zeleni Hrast and Islam Latinski cost one million kuna. The area, cleansed of mines, covers 80-metre-wide stretches from both sides along the Adriatic road's section between Zeleni Hrast and Zadar and a stretch along the Zeleni Hrast - Smilcic road. On Tuesday the Croatian De-Mining Centre's council chairman, Drazen Budisa, officially marked the completion of this job and expressed satisfaction that the combed areas could be used by local inhabitants.
