the judiciary where the situation is really grave, Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic said during his regular chat with citizens and journalists dubbed "A Cup of Coffee with the President" on Sundays. Asked to comment on the resignation of Justice Minister Stjepan Ivanisevic (who stepped down owing to his health problems) and his deputy Ranko Marijan, Mesic said the judiciary was faced with a difficult situation, as everything was still at the level of typewriters and consequently there was a huge number of pending cases. He said the cases ought to be solved primarily because of cost-effectiveness as cases which were kept very long in drawers rendered the entire procedure ver
