ZAGREB, June 1 (Hina) - A trend of mild appreciation of the kuna against the euro which started in the mid-March, was intensified in April so that in late April the nominal rate of the Croatian currency was higher by two percent in
comparison to late March. On 30 April, the exchange rate was 7.53 kuna to the euro. In the first four months the kuna appreciated 0.9 percent against euro compared to the same period last year, reads the latest bulletin of the Croatian National Bank (HNB). The central bank's analysts assess that an increase in banks' liquidity in foreign currencies is demonstrated in the continued monthly rise in the foreign exchange reserves of the banking system. The HNB's currency reserves came to 3.56 billion dollars in April, rising by 1.2 percent as against December last year, or by 21.3 percent as against April last year.
