HR-BULLETIN-Politika BRIEF NEWS BULLETIN IN ENGLISH NO. 3961 HINA ZAGREB, MAY 18 CROATIANS TO VOTE IN LOCAL ELECTIONS ON SUNDAYZAGREB, May 18 (Hina) - About 3.8 million voters will go to the polls in Croatia this Sunday to elect councillors in 422 municipal and 123 town councils, the Zagreb City Assembly and 20 county assemblies, the president of the State Election Commission (DIP), Ivica Crnic, told reporters on Friday. The number of councillors to be elected depends on individual municipalities, towns and counties and ranges from seven to 51. All Croatian citizens of 18 years of age and permanent residence in Croatia are eligible to vote, Crnic said. On the election day, voters will cast their votes at 6,430 polling stations. Special polling stations have been set up for displaced persons. The first preliminary results are expected on Sunday, around 9 pm, when the media blackout is over.
