ROME, June 7 (Hina) - "Croatia will direct special attention to minorities, including the Italian, because the country believes the minorities are the bridge for cooperation with neighbouring countries where their fellow-countrymen
live," Croatian President Stipe Mesic said in a letter to Italian President Carlo Azeglio Campi. The letter was forwarded on the occasion of June 2, the Day of the Italian Republic, but it was published only on Thursday in daily "Piccolo". The daily said Mesic was looking forward to Friday's meeting with the Italian President, to be held in Verbania, Lake Maggiore, where heads of 14 central European countries are scheduled to meet. In his letter, Mesic said he expected President Campi to visit Croatia this autumn. The two-day meeting of heads of 14 central European countries, which is also going to be attended by President Mesic, will end on Saturday.(hina) it
