Croatia has highest death rate in Europe as to middle-aged men, poor
stomatological care, and a number of TB patients exceeding the
European average, it was said.
There is also a widespread trend of an ageing population, which
increases the cost of health care. The poor health state of the
nation is the result of poor investing in health care, $350 per
capita as against the European average of $1,500-4,000.
Besides mandatory health insurance, the health reform envisages
additional insurance.
