BELGRADE, May 14 (Hina) - Armed Albanians began a violent attack on Yugoslav joint forces in Presevo municipality Monday afternoon. The first wave of attacks by members of the Presevo, Medvedje and Bujanovac Liberation Army (OVPMB)
started just after 2pm in the south of Serbia and increased significantly an hour later. The Serbian side is claiming armed Albanian troops are using machine guns, anti-aircraft rockets, shoulder-mounted rocket launchers and rifle grenades. Yugoslav troops are fighting back with equal force, Belgrade's news agency Beta reported. Government sources said the OVPMB is attempting to block all traffic on local roads. Serb sources hold the reason for the latest offensive is the current session of the NATO Council which will be deciding on the entry of Yugoslav forces into the "B" sector, the most sensitive buffer zone on the border between Serbia and Kosovo, currently under OVPMB control.(hina) lml
