VARAZDIN, May 12 (Hina) - Croatian Defence Minister Jozo Rados on Saturday dismissed the possibility that the Defence Ministry and the military intelligence service (SIS) are responsible for an incident which happened in Split last
weekend, when Croatian President Stjepan Mesic was insulted while attending a ceremony marking the anniversary of a Croatian army brigade. Rados regrets that the Split incident has become part of the campaign for local elections. One should be addressing problems such as water supply and sewage systems and similar topics and those dragging the SIS in the electoral campaign "have no ideas and have nothing to offer to the citizens," Rados said. Rados made the statement during a visit to Varazdin, which was part of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) electoral campaign.(hina) rml
