ZAGREB, May 3 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament on Thursday unanimously elected Ivica Crnic as president of the Croatian Supreme Court. Crnic was suggested to the office by the President, pursuant to a recommendation by the Supreme
Court General Assembly and the Parliament's Justice Committee. Crnic has been appointed for a term of four years and is to take up office on May 15. All party benches endorsed Crnic's appointment, assessing he qualified for all legal, expert and moral demands. Crnic, born in 1951, began his legal career as an intern and local judge, becoming a Croatian Supreme Court judge. From 1992 to 1995 he was Minister Without Portfolio at the Croatian Government, later becoming Justice Minister, and Administration Minister subsequently. From 1995 Crnic worked as a lawyer. In his curriculum vitae, Crnic wrote he was a member of the Communist Alliance until 1990, after which he never became a member of
