BELGRADE, April 30 (Hina) - The Belgrade district court on Monday prolonged detention for former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic for another two months. The court said in a statement the detention "might last less pending
further decision by the court." A month-long detention for the former head of state, which was ruled on April 1 on charges of abuse of office, expired today. Milosevic's defence attorney Toma Fila had said earlier the detention would be extended due to the risk of his client's influencing witnesses and fleeing the country. The court said today the investigation against Milosevic "is open." Milosevic has been charged with damaging the state budget for DEM800 million together with another three former senior officials and associates, Yugoslav prime ministers Jovan Zebic and Nikola Sainovic and Yugoslav customs chief Mihalj Kertes.(hina) ha
