SPLIT, April 15 (Hina) - Four ancient graves containing ornaments, silver and copper rings and a lucerne have been discovered at Gradac near the central Adriatic town of Makarska, a member of the National Trust from Split, Franko
Oreb, said last Wednesday. Oreb said it was too soon for any conclusions but Split archeologists believed common people had been buried in the graves. The archeological find confirms that today's Gradac was built on the remains of a Roman settlement, located in the vicinity of an ancient road which ran from Salona to Narona. The graves were discovered on a private construction plot by a retiree who spotted Roman tiles sticking out of the ground.(hina) rml
