BELGRADE, April 2 (Hina) - The Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia on Monday welcomed the arrest of former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic and demanded the authorities to extradite Milosevic and all other war crime
suspects to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). In Yugoslavia's failure to cooperate with the ICTY, the Helsinki Committee sees the unreadiness of the authorities to start the process of "facing the Serbian society with crimes committed in the name of the 'Greater Serbian' idea." The Committee believes that Milosevic cannot be tried in Yugoslavia, because during a possible trial for embezzlements, "the Serbian authorities would demonstrate ignorance toward Milosevic's crimes committed during the aggression in Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo."(hina) it
