ZAGREB, March 22 (Hina) - The House of Representatives of the Croatian parliament commenced today's work with a debate on a draft national plan for the fight against corruption. Deputy Justice Minister Ranko Marijan said the action
plan was drawn up because of assessments that corruption had become a serious problem in Croatia and "an evil which is destroying the society and democratic processes." The plan stipulates effective measures to be taken by the law-based state to counter corruption, the set-up of a separate body for the fight against this evil, the encouragement of the political and civic responsibility and preventive measures. The lower house continued the 11th session with debates conducted by parliamentary branches.(hina) ms
