of Representatives adopted a law on the rights of Homeland Defence War veterans by a majority vote on Tuesday. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) made the concluding of a stand-by arrangement with Croatia conditional on the passing of this law. The government has made some compromises with amendments to the bill, for example, it has agreed to extend the deadline for the privileged import of vehicles by war veterans from May 1 to June 1. In line with the law, 100-percent disabled war veterans will keep the right to be granted a car by the War Veterans' Ministry every seventh year, while the families of killed soldiers will be granted the right to a one-time privileged import of vehicles.
