ZAGREB, Feb 6 (Hina) - Miro Kacic, a renowned Croatian linguist and romanist, professor at Zagreb's Faculty of Philosophy and head of the Institute for the Croatian Language and Linguistics, died at the age of 54 in Zagreb on Tuesday.
Because of his contribution to the development of theoretical linguistics, the French government financed the publishing of Kacic's PhD thesis, which can be found in all scientific institutions and libraries in France. The areas of his scientific research included theoretical linguistics, syntax and morphology, algebra and information linguistics, lexicology and lexicography and French and Croatian languages.
