ZAGREB, Jan 25 (Hina) - The Croatian Employment Bureau (HZZ) registered 118,032 new jobs in 2000 and such high employment figures have not been registered for a long time, the HZZ said in a statement on Thursday. The HZZ was
commenting on today's statement by the head of the Independent Croatian Workers' Unions, Kresimir Sever, who dismissed Prime Minister Ivica Racan's claim that 118,000 new jobs were created in Croatia last year. Sever said this figure also included vacancies which were created previously due to retirement, long sick leaves, maternity leaves etc. Neither in Croatian nor in foreign data is it specifically stated if new jobs are completely new or have existed before, the HZZ said.(hina) rml
