ZAGREB, Jan 25 (Hina) - It is incorrect that 118,000 new job were created in Croatia last year, president of the Independent Croatian Unions, Kresimir Sever, said Thursday, refuting yesterday's claim by Prime Minister Ivica Racan in
parliament. Although 118,000 people were employed last year, according to data by the Croatian Employment Bureau, this does not mean so many jobs were created, Sever said in a statement. The aforementioned number includes the filling of previously created jobs which were vacant due to retirement, long sick leaves, maternity leaves etc. and employment abroad, Sever asserted. The true number of newly-created jobs in Croatia is by far less than the mentioned number, and this goes for all previous years, he said.
