ZAGREB, Jan 23 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament's House of Counties on Monday started its first session this year with a discussion on a final bill on Croatian Radio Television (HRT) in line with which HRT would be a public
institution of special public interest. According to the bill, the transmitters and communications sector would be separated from HRT, Croatian Television would have two channels, while the third channel would be privatised. Croatian Radio would have three channels on three networks. Radio and television would be divided into two independent media within a one-year deadline. The Management Council would be elected by the parliament, while the HRT Council would be elected at the motion of the Croatian Journalists' Association and would include representatives of 16 associations and one or two representatives of the parliam
