ANKARA, Jan 17 (Hina) - The commander of Croatia's Navy, Vice-Admiral Vid Stipetic, on Wednesday arrived in Ankara on a three-day visit to Turkish armed forces. During his talks with his host, Admiral Ilhami Erdil, Vid Stipetic
expressed hope that his tour would contribute to the overall developments of the ties between the two friendly countries. The two admirals also spoke of the necessity for the two navies to hold joint manoeuvres within NATO's Partnership for Peace Program. They maintained that the strengthening of the relations between the Croatian and Turkish armies was in service of peace and security at the Adriatic and in the entire Mediterranean region. Until 19 January when his tour ends, Vice-Admiral Stipetic is to hold meetings with other high-ranking officers of the Turkish armed forces.(hina) ms
