CROATIA'S COUNTY AND YUGOSLAV PROVINCE TO ESTABLISH COOPERATION

ILOK, Jan 8 (Hina) - Vukovar-Srijem County and the northern Yugoslav province of Vojvodina are ready to establish good cooperation, free from the burden of war and events which took place in 1991, and the precondition for cooperation is the solving of open issues in relations between Croatia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Vukovar-Srijem County prefect Petar Cobankovic and Vojvodina Assembly president Nenad Canak said in Ilok Monday. The new authorities in Vojvodina are ready to initiate the solving of numerous issues between the two countries, Canak said and expressed readiness to help the return of the Vukovar cultural heritage, taken from the Vukovar town museum during the war. He also promised the delivery of the maps of mine-infested areas, drafted by the former Yugoslav Army, to help the mine removal process in Vukovar-Srijem County.
