TV station SITEL reported on Thursday evening. #L#
The bomb, which was hidden in a dustbin, exploded while students
were having a break and were buying lunch at a nearby shop. Thanks to
the fact that the school janitor forgot to ring the bell on time, the
students left the building several minutes later than they usually
do, which saved many young lives, the TV station reported.
The explosion was strongly condemned by international
representatives in Macedonia and the country's state and political
leadership, while Defence Minister Vlado Buckovski said it was an
act of terrorism.
The man who was killed in the blast and four wounded persons are
Macedonians, while one girl, who sustained the gravest injuries, is
an Albanian. The school is attended only by Macedonian students
because Albanian students moved to another building of their own
accord, after long protests and boycotting of classes.
