"The agreement even exceeded the bilateral framework and became a
clear message to the international community and an invitation to
tourists to visit this region," Picula said and stressed that
Croatia's south finally got a chance to normalise the life and
develop its potentials.
Picula's counterpart Goran Svilanovic said that by signing the
agreement the two governments showed that they were capable of
jointly solving the Prevlaka issue and were ready to solve the
remaining disputable issues the same way.
Svilanovic said that by joint efforts invested in the signing of the
protocol, Croatia and Yugoslavia proved their orientation towards
Europe and European values.
At the end, minister Picula wished members of the UN Mission of
Observers on Prevlaka, whose mandate expires on December 15, a safe
trip home.
