Commenting on the outcome of today's constituent session of the
Bosnian parliament's House of Representatives, the SBiH bench said
the session had made it obvious that three national parties -- the
(Bosniak) Party of Democratic Action (SDA), the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) and the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) -- were
struggling for power together, without taking reforms or the
priorities of the state or citizens into consideration.
"Evidently, the political scene is dominated by a coalition of
three national parties which advocate and are starting to implement
an already seen power concept," said the former chairman of the
Bosnian Presidency, Beriz Belkic, on the party's behalf.
The party does not wish in any way to endorse the establishment of
such a government, so its MPs voted against the election of the
parliamentary leadership which consists of representatives of the
SDA, HDZ and SDS.
The SBiH statement probably marks the end of negotiations with the
SDA about cooperation in establishing the government, in which SBiH
leader Haris Silajdzic would assume the duty of Bosnia's premier.
