ZAGREB, Dec 4 (Hina) - "I think that the re-organisation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the establishment of the rule-of-law should commence from the opposite side, i.e. from inside and people and citizens of Bosnia-Herzegovina. There is
no doubt that it is a longer path, but the only right one," said Friar Mijo Dzolan, the head of Bosnian Franciscan order.
ZAGREB, Dec 4 (Hina) - "I think that the re-organisation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina and the establishment of the rule-of-law should
commence from the opposite side, i.e. from inside and people and
citizens of Bosnia-Herzegovina. There is no doubt that it is a
longer path, but the only right one," said Friar Mijo Dzolan, the
head of Bosnian Franciscan order. #L#
He gave an interview to Croatia's leading Catholic weekly "Glas
Koncila" in which he said that Bosnia was under protectorate and
added that the international community would accept solutions
(from inside the country) if it was clearer what its citizens and
peoples wanted to have.
"The Croat issue in Bosnia is one of the most important matters for
its survival," he said. Friar Dzolan said this issue should be
treated quite seriously by Croats in Bosnia, their institutions,
the Republic of Croatia, other peoples and citizens of Bosnia, and
the international community.
Friars have been present in Bosnia for seven centuries. "Bosna
Srebrna", which is the official name of the Franciscan province, is
named after Srebrenica, the eastern town where friars used to have
one of their oldest monasteries.
Dzolan said in the area in which Bosnian Croat friars were active
(the Sarajevo Archdiocese and Banja Luka diocese) there were now
157,815 Catholic believers out of 300,000 before the war.
