The election of the new president of the House and two deputies has
confirmed that three large national parties -- (Muslim) Party of
Democratic Action (SDA), Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and Serb
Democratic Party (SDS) -- had established an alliance and thus
began to assume control over all levers of the legislative and
executive authorities in Bosnia.
SDA Secretary-General Serfik Dzaferovic was elected president of
the House of Representatives.
The two deputies elected are Borislav Paracav as a candidate of the
SDS and Barisa Colak, acting HDZ president.
The president and his two deputies will rotate in duties every eight
months.
The Bosnian parliament's House of Peoples, which consists of five
deputies from the ranks of all three national parties, has not been
constituted yet, because cantonal assemblies in the Bosnian
Federation or entities' parliaments have not delegated people to
perform these duties.
