During the long talks, held at Ewe's request, the two exchanged
opinions on the new electoral bill and considered Zagreb's
relations with the Hague-based UN tribunal and with the EU, read the
statement.
Concerning the election of minorities' representatives to the
parliament, the HSP chief told Ewe that this party regarded
minorities' representatives as Croats in the political sense, i.e.
that there were citizens of Croatia and therefore, it was also
acceptable to elect them from parties' slates. If this is not
possible to achieve, the existing legal model is also acceptable,
the statement said.
Djapic informed Ewe of his stands on the issue regarding General
Janko Bobetko, and said he believed that an indictment against him
was politically pointless. He reiterated that it was high time that
a referendum on Croatia's relation with the ICTY was called.
