embargo. #L#
"I believe it is clear to everybody why they are here. Through the
'Jugoimport SDPR' company and its branch offices, Yugoslavia
conducted illegal trade or trade and delivery of arms to countries
under UN embargo," Covic said at the party's news conference,
stressing that the "Iraq case" must be investigated "as to find out
the exact contents of the shipments and the potentials of the
arms."
Asking where the money from these transactions went, Covic said
there were discrepancies between the actual position of the
military industry in Yugoslavia and the large amount of money being
mentioned in connection to the export of arms to Iraq.
