paper "Piccolo" reported on Tuesday. #L#
"I request the Italian government to intervene so as to help retain
our right to the direct representation in parliament. Eliminating
our presence in the lawmaking body for making important decision,
Premier Ivica Racan wants to quell the voice of our minority on
national level," Furio Radin wrote.
The ethnic Italian MP was quoted as saying that Racan was doing
political injustice to the Italian minority, when he was trying to
rescind the right which it had exercised since the end of the
Yugoslav Socialist rule. Radin added that such attempts were being
taken ahead of the arrival of the minister for Italians abroad,
Mirko Tremaglia, in Rijeka, according to the Italian news agency
ANSA.
