The Croatian Bloc condemns the use of repression and political
threats in the resolving of economic and social problems.
The Democratic Centre (DC) condemns the government and supports the
workers in their demands.
This opposition party also urges establishing who was responsible
for choosing the strategic partner for the Ironworks even though,
it claims, there were indications that Trubo-Impex was financially
completely unreliable.
The DC also urges the government to ascertain the personal
responsibility of its members for the situation in the company and
for the fact that police were sent to deal with the workers.
The Croatian Party of Rights believes the latest developments
involving the Sisak Ironworks are the result of the dire social
situation, which it says is almost unbearable. Due to the
government's incompetence, these events could spread nation-wide,
party leader Anto Djapic told reporters.
The Action of Croatian Social Democrats (ASH) says the incumbent
authorities' attack on the Ironworks' employees is an attack on the
social discontent of all who demand work and food through
protests.
This party says the fact that some workers were beaten justifies
requests for changing the government which the ASH claims is
responsible for the "Sisak cataclysm".
