The organisers of the rally, two metal workers unions, demand the
payment of three overdue salaries for 1,700 Ironworks employees and
another 270 workers of Remont Caprag.
The leader of the Croatian Metal Workers' Union, Ivo Marjanovic,
said the union demanded the resumption of production and government
assistance in finding a new strategic partner for the Sisak
Ironworks. The company's former partner, the Austrian-Russian
concern "Trubo Impex", recently cancelled a partnership contract
with the Sisak company.
Union members expect to meet Vice-Premier Slavko Linic or Economy
Minister Ljubo Jurcic.
