PRAGUE PRAGUE, Nov 20 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, who will be at the helm of the country's delegation, on Thursday will arrive in Prague which is the venue for a two-day summit of NATO and the EuroAtlantic Partnership
Council. During the Prague event, seven new countries will be called to join the Alliance.
PRAGUE, Nov 20 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, who will
be at the helm of the country's delegation, on Thursday will arrive
in Prague which is the venue for a two-day summit of NATO and the
EuroAtlantic Partnership Council. During the Prague event, seven
new countries will be called to join the Alliance. #L#
Mesic will take part in the summit meeting of the EuroAtlantic
Partnership Council, a body which gathers NATO member-states and
countries that have partnership relations with NATO.
Croatia joined the Partnership for Peace programme in 2000, and the
year later it was admitted into the Vilnius Group.
After the Prague summit, Croatia, Albania and Macedonia will be the
only countries from the Vilnius 10 Group which will remain outside
NATO, while the other seven members are to be admitted into the
Alliance.
This year, Croatia joined NATO's Membership Action Plan (MAP).
Zagreb expects of the Prague summit to confirm the open door policy
so that Croatia can join NATO in the next wave of its enlargement.
