In an interview for Austria's Die Furche Catholic weekly, von
Hapsburg said that he had advocated a fast expansion of the EU, and
added that Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania should not have been left
out of the first expansion round while at the same time the Czech
Republic had been included.
He criticised the Czech Republic for not cancelling the so-called
Benes decrees, adopted immediately after World War II, which served
as the basis for the expulsion of about three million Carpathian
Germans and confiscation of their property, IKA reported.
