The minister promised that union representatives would participate
in drawing up the regulations, as well as all other by-laws which
will regulate care for surplus labour in the Defence Ministry and
Armed Forces.
Antunovic will also see that all rights from the collective
agreement are respected, because union representatives have warned
her about unpaid overtime and work on holidays, as well as the fact
that some material rights have not been respected.
"We believe that efforts will be made to provide for everyone, but
due to a lack of funds, this will hardly be possible," union
president Radomir Delic told reporters.
The government plans to reduce the number of employees in the
defence system from the current 40,000 to 19,520 by the end of 2005.
