Primarily owing to investments made in pension funds, the turnover
at the Zagreb Stock Exchange in this year's first ten months
exceeded four billion kuna (EUR0.54 billion), which is twice as
much than in 1997, which until now has been the most solvent year,
Vidovic told a news conference held on the occasion of the first
anniversary of the work of the Central Registry of Insurees
(Regos).
Since the beginning of the registration of first insurees in the
second pension insurance column, Regos has managed to forward close
to 98 percent of a total 1.5 billion kuna to the accounts of
insurees.
The second pension insurance column, which is a compulsory
individual savings, includes more than 900,000 insurees.
