ZAGREB, Oct 15 (Hina) - The blind should have the right to the full amount of the allowance for care-givers regardless of their financial status, and all blind children below the age of 18, or until they find employment, should have
the right to personal disability allowances, representatives of the Croatian Association of Blind People said at a meeting with Labour and Welfare Minister Davorko Vidovic on Tuesday.
ZAGREB, Oct 15 (Hina) - The blind should have the right to the full
amount of the allowance for care-givers regardless of their
financial status, and all blind children below the age of 18, or
until they find employment, should have the right to personal
disability allowances, representatives of the Croatian
Association of Blind People said at a meeting with Labour and
Welfare Minister Davorko Vidovic on Tuesday. #L#
It was agreed at the meeting that the Ministry would calculate the
budgetary funds required for that purpose.
According to the Croatian Employment Bureau, a total of 400
registered persons with impaired vision have found employment in
the past four years alone.
This refutes yesterday's statement by the head of the Rijeka-based
"Homer" association, Marija Hack, that less than five blind persons
had found employment in Croatia over the past 12 years.
Zagreb County prefect Stjepan Kozic today received a delegation of
the Zagreb Association of Blind People on the occasion of White Cane
Day, October 15.
