Representatives of the government, employers and unions attended a
three-day seminar on the northern Adriatic archipelago of Brijuni
that ended on Wednesday. During the seminar they discussed
activities to date as well as objectives for the Economic-Social
Council (GSV).
The topic of the talks was the competitiveness of Croatia's
economy, and the foundation for the discussion was the Irish model
which was presented by one of the architects of that model, John
Travers.
The social partners also established an action plan for the GSV
including tasks that need to be resolved urgently and which will
require further talks.
Despite announcements, union leaders did not reach a final
agreement on the division of union property because, as they said,
they did not have sufficient time.
It is expected that talks on the division of property owned by
former state-run unions will be continued next week.
