The IMF visit is to last until November 6. As previously announced,
talks on a new stand-by arrangement between Croatia and the IMF will
be held during this time. The new arrangement would be in effect for
only one year, during the remainder of the incumbent government's
mandate.
Government circles have emphasised that a new stand-by arrangement
is a message to financial circles and investors that the government
will not annul positive trends because of coming elections.
