Sulejmanovic is the father of Zlatko Sulejmanovic. He testified of
threats to his son and family in October last year, just after
Zlatko was interviewed by an investigating judge relating to events
at Lora, which resulted in Zlatko's suffering a "nervous
breakdown", his father said.
During his testimony in June, Zlatko Sulejmanovic could not
remember what he had said the previous October, so that statement
was read to him.
According to the statement, on the night of June 14, 1992, together
with another guard, Sulejmanovic was transferring the lifeless
body of prisoner Gojko Bulovic, after some masked unknown people
had come to the jail. He tried to revive Bulovic, but
unsuccessfully, realising that he was dead. He also said that he had
heard that Nenad Knezevic had attempted to escape from the jail the
night before, but he had no knowledge of what happened later, except
that he heard shots fired and that Knezevic was wounded.
Asked if his October testimony was correct, Sulejmanovic said that
he could not remember because he was under medication, that he had
been held by the police all night and that the police had suggested
what he should tell the investigating judge. He also said that he
could not remember any of the events in Lora in 1992.
The trial will continue on Monday when five witnesses from
Yugoslavia are expected to take the witness stand. This, however,
has still not been confirmed.
The accused are charged with war crimes against prisoners and the
murder of two Serb civilian, Gojko Bulovic and Nenad Knezevic, in
Lora in 1992.
