The diagnoses note, among else, two coronaries, in 1994 and 2002.
Bobetko has a heart electrostimulator, which was replaced this
year. He also suffers from arteriosclerosis.
The report notes leaking through the valve between the left and
right atria and the left and right ventricles, permanent
irregularity of the heart rhythm, as well as a left ventricle
thrombus. Due to a high level of heart decompensation, more than
half Bobetko's right lung chronically fills with fluid. The general
also suffers from chronic kidney failure. Recent tests have
established thyroid failure as well.
There is peroneal damage to a left leg nerve, as well as uric acid in
the blood. For several years, the general has also been suffering
from type two diabetes.
Dr Bergovec told reporters last night that the general was not
feeling well and was virtually bed-ridden. "He should be
hospitalised, but for the moment he doesn't want to and will stay
home until further notice," he said, adding that Bobetko had been
provided with medical care, including the necessary machines that
could be compared to semi-intensive hospital care.
The report on Bobetko's condition has been compiled including past
medical documentation, as well as the findings of clinical,
laboratory, radiological and echosonographic tests done at
Zagreb's Dubrava hospital on Oct. 8. The tests were done by Croatian
experts of international renown: Bergovec, Bozikov, Boris
Brkljacic, Josip Vincelj, and Milan Kujundzic.
