Croatia is still not an ICC member, despite the fact that most of
Europe's developed and transition countries are.
Croatia's ICC national committee was established on Oct. 1 at an
initiative by the Cipcic Law Firm, which was joined by the Croatian
Banks' Association (HUB) and the Croatian Employers' Association
and their branches. The committee was set up to make Croatia an ICC
member during the course of this year, HUB said in a joint statement
on Thursday.
Croatia is expected to be invited to ICC membership in November, by
which time it is expected the Croatian Chamber of Commerce will join
the national ICC committee as well.
ICC promotes the interests of the business sector world-wide and in
all economic branches. It advocates the development of market
economy, investing, and free access to world markets. Formed in
1919, ICC comprises of thousands of companies and organisations
from more than 140 countries.
