Danish and Croatian deputy defence ministers Kristian Fisher and
Zlatko Gareljic met on the margins of the seminar and discussed the
re-organisation in the armed forces, Euro-Atlantic integration and
Danish experience which could assist Croatia in these fields.
"I am confident that this seminar and today's talks are the
beginning of long-term bilateral cooperation," Galjeric said after
the talks. He said concrete forms of cooperation were agreed at the
meeting, such as signing a cooperation agreement and a visit of a
Croatian defence ministry delegation to Denmark.
Croatia is interested Danish assistance in the process of drawing
closer to NATO, Galjeric said.
Fisher told reporters the talks also focused on challenges the two
ministries were facing, the participation in peace missions across
the world and the reduction of personnel in the armed forces.
The Danish official said he was impressed with progress Croatia
made in drawing closer to NATO.
