Following today's signing of a free trade agreement with Albania,
Croatia has signed such deals with 29 countries. The thirtieth will
be Lithuania.
After today's signing, the economy ministers of Croatia and
Albania, Ljubo Jurcic and Arben Malaj, said the free trade
agreement would go into force upon ratification in both countries'
parliaments.
Croatian-Albanian trade in 2001 amounted to US$11.94 million, with
Croatia's export accounting for more than 11 million. In this
year's first seven months, trade between the two countries reached
US$7.7 million, with Croatia's export accounting for 7.64
million.
