tribunal at The Hague. #L#
The strongest opposition party, the Croatian Democratic Union
(HDZ) requested a 15-minute break, which the parliament president
okayed, for consultations in connection with a statement made by
Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic at a government session earlier
today.
Granic said the government had been requested by the UN tribunal to
assist in organising an interview with Gen. Bobetko in his capacity
as defendant.
HDZ bench president Vladimir Seks said the break was requested
because the government yesterday informed parliament it had no
knowledge about a possible probe into Bobetko.
Granic said in parliament on Wednesday the government did not have
any document which would indicate that Gen. Bobetko had been
accused and that the Hague tribunal would file an indictment
against him.
At the government session earlier today, Granic said the UN
tribunal yesterday afternoon requested the government's
assistance in organising an interview with Bobetko as defendant.
