The spokeswoman for the Zagreb police, Stanka Saraja, told Hina
that the protester was taken into custody because he had been
disturbing public peace and order, namely he was carrying a banner
outside the Croatian government building calling for the
continuation of the protest, which had been banned last week.
According to unofficial sources, the arrested policeman is Josip
Tuk. He is one of the protesters who sought shelter in the St. Mark
chapel where they continued a protest which started half a year
ago.
Nine policemen are still in the chapel and yesterday they were
joined by their leader Filip Lacic after he was released from
hospital where he was treated for light injuries sustained while he
was resisting arrest last week.
The entrance to the St. Mark chapel is under constant police
surveillance.
